Gods Thoughts and Ways

Isaiah 55:6-9 NKJV
Seek the Lord while He may be found, Call upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way, And the unrighteous man his thoughts; Let him return to the Lord, And He will have mercy on him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon. “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.
What a great beginning in the Isaiah verse we just read. It is a very straightforward plea for people to come to God. Come and He will have mercy and freely pardon. That offer is still offered to this very day. This very moment even, through the grace and sacrifice of our Lord, Jesus, on our behalf. Thank you, Jesus!
Then the verses go on to tell us about the thoughts and ways of God and how they are so far above and beyond our ways and thoughts and really, our understanding at times. That is an important fact to know about our loving God. We are not always going to understand what God is doing. And that is a hard thing sometimes as there are things that will happen in our lives and world that do not make sense to us. That is where the rubber of faith meets the road.
But 1 Corinthians 13:12 tells us that it will not always be that way. Now we see dimly and know in part. But then, with God, we see face to face and know in full. How awesome will that be, my friends?
