Uncomfortable Pain

Uncomfortable Pain
by: Pastor Ryan Scheibel

Romans 5:3-5, “We also glory in tribulations knowing that tribulation produces perseverance and perseverance produces character and character hope. Now hope does not disappoint because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.”

All of us want life to be comfortable. We panic when the electricity gets knocked out. We don’t like it when we are in uncomfortable situations because we don’t like our comfortable American life interrupted. We like for things to be comfortable but God knows that we don’t grow in times of comfort most of the time.

Sometimes God allows us to go through hard times and difficult places because He knows He can do a deep and effective work that will cause us to grow.

If you feel like you’re in a place that is uncomfortable, just know that God can use it to do a deep work in your life if you allow God to guide you through it.

God often uses those hard times to mold and shape us. When he wants to use us in a great way, he takes us to the backside of the desert like he did Moses and he prepares and deepens our walk and relationship with him through those trials. He uses islands of Patmos like John and gave him the book of Revelation. He uses these things to deepen our walk and so he can reveal himself in a fresh new way. He uses pits and prisons like Joseph to get us where we need to be.
