One Final Sacrifice

One Final Sacrifice
by: Pastor David Wood

Romans 8:1-2 NIV
Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.

These two short verses tell so much about what has been done for us. The difference of before Jesus came as a once and for all sacrifice for our sins and after it was finished.
You see, the old covenant did not have the ability to take care of our sin issue. What it did was make us fully aware of our sin and our desperate need for a Savior. There was no way for us to make it to God on our own effort and ability.

There was never, is not now and will never be a way for us to be good enough. Romans 3:23 makes that painfully clear.

But both verses also point to the hope of the new covenant in Jesus. We are saved by grace that came to us through the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross where He paid the debt for all the sins of man. One final sacrifice for all.

Now, all that remains is for us to accept that great and wonderful gift of love.

Knowing God
by: Pastor David Wood

Romans 11:33-36
Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out! “For who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has become His counselor?” “Or who has first given to Him and it shall be repaid to him?” For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever. Amen

Isaiah 55:8-9
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts

1 Corinthians 13:12
For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.

1 Corinthians 2:9
But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”

Revelation 21:4
And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.
Some great verses today that tell us a little about our God. Lots of things happen in this thing we call, life, that we just don’t understand. Our God is so much bigger and beyond our current comprehension. But one day, on the other side of eternity, we will know and understand everything. For now, we put our hope, trust and faith in the One and Only. The great I AM.
