For Your Good

For Your Good
by: Pastor Ryan Scheibel

Genesis 50:20, “But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.”
Joseph’s brothers sold him as a slave but God worked it out for good to save many people and get him to be a ruler over the land.

God often uses those hard times and trials to mold and shape us when he wants to use us in a great way and to get us where He wants us to be to raise us up and bring salvation to many!

I think of Elijah in 1 Kings 19 when he ran for his life, he came to a cave to hid and this was a place God did a deeper work in Elijah’s life. In the cave, God gave him a fresh revelation of himself as God spoke to him in a still small voice.

God uses chronic pain and weakness, along with other afflictions, as His chisel for sculpting our lives. Weakness deepens dependence on Christ for strength each day, the weaker we feel, the harder we lean.

Now the last place we want to be is in the cave where we’re stripped from the bear niceties of life from everything that make us comfortable.

But there is a deeper work that can only be done in the caves through God’s still small voice to encourage us.
