Psalm 34:8, “Taste and see that that the Lord is good!”
Once you sink your teeth into the bread of life Jesus and see that He is good, the things of the world won’t be as appetizing.
I want to help you all learn that Jesus is “the bread of life” by defining BREAD for you.
B = Basic. Bread is basic as it has 4 ingredients: Flour, yeast, salt and water. We need food to live and bread represents the most basic food that sustains life. We describe the main thing we do as our bread and butter. Our bread and butter at Water Brooks is God’s Word and evangelism!
R = Rises. Bread rises and Jesus rose from the grave and we should also rise early to seek the Lord!
E = Energy. Bread gives you energy when you’re weak, tired and exhausted. It takes energy to make it but it gives you energy to keep going! Spiritually, it takes energy to get into Gods Word but it will energize you to keep charging for Jesus! God’s Word is living & powerful.
A = Ask. God wants us to ask Him for things, to do His will in our lives and talk to Him. Don’t let prayer be your last resort. Go to God when you’re in need as He has all the power, resources and all the cows on a thousand hills.
D = Decay. Bread decays and will go bad if you don’t eat it right away. We need to be constantly getting fresh bread from God in His word or else things in our life will decay and go bad, D can also stand for Daily. God wants us to feed on His Word daily!
When you’re fed in the Word of God, you become strong, healthy and grow a lot spiritually.
