Why God?

Why God?
by: Pastor Ryan Scheibel

1 Samuel 20:1, “Then David fled from Naioth in Ramah, and went and said to Jonathan, ‘What have I done? What is my iniquity, and what is my sin before your father, that he seeks my life?’”

David went to Johnathan and asked him what have I done to your father that he seeks to kill my life?

Notice the questions of David— what did I do? How have I sinned? These are questions we all have asked in our walks with God. Sometimes we get confused when life doesn’t turn out the way we think it should. When people come against us and say things or do things against us.

There are many things I look back in my life and I didn’t see them in the moment as preparatory for what God wanted to do today.  I just wondered why this was happening. God doesn’t always tell us in the moment why He is doing what He’s doing. As you look back you realize how that was such a valuable lesson and how he was using that to prepare you for your future. The truth is you may have done nothing wrong. People may hate you just because you love Jesus. You may have done everything right.

Sometimes we go through hard times because we live in a sin filled world and God uses these things to prepare us for what He has for us in the future to make us stronger, and to mold and shape us. Sometimes God allows us to go through the refiner’s fire to make us better.

God allows hard times to happen in our lives to grow us, stretch us and make us stronger. Trials help us get our eyes back on Jesus and to ask Him for Help. There allowed not to bum us but to build us up.
