A Step of Faith

A Step of Faith

1 Samuel 20:37, “When the lad had come to the place where the arrow was which Jonathan had shot, Jonathan cried out after the lad and said, ‘Is not the arrow beyond you?’”
I just imagine Jonathan dragging his feet, walking like a downcast depressed man. He has to deliver the message to David to leave. He was a hunted criminal in the eyes of King Saul.

It’s important to remember your life may hinge on one small moment or small decision
that you’re faced with today. When David heard Johnathon say it’s beyond you, that was the worst news David probably ever could have heard at that moment. David was going to enter into a time of exile that would last close to a decade.

Sometimes God calls us out of our comfortable surroundings. Maybe God is leading you where you didn’t expect. You’re wonder how can this be? How can this be part of God’s plan? It’s a moment where you have to trust in God and take a step of faith into the great unknown as Gods Holy Spirit leads you.

Alan Redpath said, “Let God empty you out that He may save you from becoming spiritually stale, and lead you ever onward. He is always calling us to pass beyond the thing we know into the unknown. A throne is God’s purpose for you; a cross is God’s path for you; faith is God’s plan for you.”
