Warriors to Worshippers

Warriors to Worshippers

1 Samuel 19:20-21, “Then Saul sent messengers to take David. And when they saw the group of prophets prophesying, and Samuel standing as leader over them, the Spirit of God came upon the messengers of Saul, and they also prophesied. And when Saul was told, he sent other messengers, and they prophesied likewise. Then Saul sent messengers again the third time, and they prophesied also.”

Once Saul heard where David was hiding, he sent assassins to take him away! God’s Spirit came upon the soldiers and turned these warriors into worshippers. God protected David every step of the way! They came to arrest David and they end up worshipers themselves. Three groups of soldiers couldn’t arrest David because he was in the midst of other believers praising, worshiping and hearing God’s Word.

Never underestimate the power of God’s people coming together to worship and hear His word being spoken. It is a powerful thing when we gather together with other believers worshiping God.

The assassins and even Saul were transformed in the presence of God. God gripped and changed their hearts as they spent time with God’s people at church!

Staying home, worshiping and watching online is like watching a fireplace on the TV rather than sitting by a real fire! You don’t get the full effect and warmth. You will experience God in a much more powerful way when your gathered together in person with God’s people the church.
