The Bread of Life

The Bread of Life
by: Pastor Ryan Scheibel

John 6:27, “Do not labor for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to everlasting life, which the Son of Man will give you, because God the Father has set His seal on Him.”

When you buy bread or other food from the grocery store, it has stamps and seals saying this is certified “Gluten Free,” “GMO Free.” “Sugar Free,” or “Organic”.

God set his seal on Jesus saying He gives good food that endures to eternal life!

We pick what we eat by the seal it has on it, “certified by the heart association.” Jesus said, I am Gods son and I have Gods stamp of approval on me! At Jesus’ baptism, God the Father spoke and said in Mathew 17:5, “This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased. Listen to him!”

We can trust Jesus because He is the only one with Gods seal of approval! Jesus is the only one who has the words of eternal life and can satisfy us.

I think it is very interesting that Jesus was born in Bethlehem! Bethlehem means the house of bread as it’s the breadbasket of Israel. Jesus’ hometown was famous for bread and Jesus was born in that town. The bread of life came out of the house of bread!

We will be left hungry wanting more money, toys and material things If we are seeking to get satisfied with something outside of Jesus.

What everyone is truly hungry for is God, weather they know it or not and we won’t be satisfied until we have a right relationship with Him!
