Lead People to God

Lead People to God

1 Samuel 19:18-19, “So David fled and escaped, and went to Samuel at Ramah, and told him all that Saul had done to him. And he and Samuel went and stayed in Naioth.  Now it was told Saul, saying, ‘Take note, David is at Naioth in Ramah!’”

As David is on the run from Saul, he went to Ramah, which was Samuel’s hometown, and found the prophet Samuel and wanted council. Samuel took him to Naioth which is the Hebrew word for dwellings. It refers to a compound of homes, like condominiums. A shepherds camp this little compound, is where the prophets lived. Samuel had a little school of ministry called the school of the prophets, where he would train these young men in the ministry.

I love how when David’s enemy was after him, he sought out godly counsel. He didn’t go to the bar to drink his problems away; he sought godly counsel from the prophet Samuel.
Notice that Samuel walked with David and took him to the dwelling of the prophets. He took him to fellowship with other believers basically took him to church.

My question to us is, are we the type of godly person people can come to when our enemy Satan is after them? Are you willing to walk and to talk with people and bring them to church to get a word and encouragement from God?
