Food for Your Soul

Food for Your Soul
by: Pastor Ryan Scheibel

1 Samuel 21:6, “So the priest gave him holy bread.”

Here’s David on the run hungry and he ran to the priest and Tabernacle. When David had nowhere else to turn, he went to the Tabernacle, to the place of worship, to the place where sacrifices and praise were offered up. That’s where he went in his time of trouble.
Sometimes God allows trouble so that we’ll run to church and His presence. When everything’s going great, many people forget God. When things suddenly go bad, we say we need to get back to church. Everybody get in the car, we’re going to all the services, we’re gonna go, worship and pray!

God often uses trials to get our eyes back on Him.

As David runs to the Tabernacle, he gets this bread and it’s going to sustain him. I love how David received bread because Jesus said concerning Himself in John 6, I am the bread of life and when you go into a church you should find the Word of God because the bible says man can’t live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.

When we run to the house of the Lord, we should find food for our soul.
