The Comb Over

2 Corinthians 7:1, “Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit perfecting holiness in the fear of God.”
God wants to cleanse us of the filthiness of the flesh. Those big things in our lives and those internal things nobody sees, like our attitude, temperaments and ugliness that’s on the inside. We will never be sinless on this side of eternity but we should sin less and less as we walk close with Jesus!
My hair comb reminds me of how God does the deep work in our lives of sanctification. My comb has a wide teeth part and small teeth part and it’s like when we get saved, God takes the wide tooth comb and rakes it over our lives and gets those big things out, those big sins. Then there are some things he uses the small tooth comb for that He can only get out with the small tooth comb where He does His deep work within us making us more like Him.
