Luke 2:6-7, “So it was, that while they were there, the days were completed for her to be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.”
Once they get to Bethlehem, Mary was about to give birth to Jesus! They go to an inn to try and check into labor and delivery but there is no room for them. Someone told them there is a stable out there you can use.
A stable was a place they would use to keep the animals safe. This is where Mary gave birth to Jesus, The Savior of the world. For the birth of God to come into this world in a dirty, damp and cold stable is just unthinkable!
They rejected the creator of the universe! It’s sad because many people have no room for Jesus in their lives! For many people, at one time, they had room for Jesus but other things took His place. Jesus is no longer their #1 Priority!
And we have to be careful because “The Redeemed can be steered away by the American Dream”.
Our relationship with Jesus needs to be the most important thing in our lives because depending on what you do with Jesus, determines your eternal destination. Jesus said you’re either for me or against me. If someone says NO to Jesus and they don’t have room for Him in their hearts, then Jesus won’t have room for them in heaven because Jesus is the only way!
