God Can & Will

1 Samuel 17:53, “Then the children of Israel returned from chasing the Philistines, and they plundered their tents. And David took the head of the Philistine and brought it to Jerusalem, but he put his armor in his tent.”
It’s interesting that David took the head of Goliath with Him. He brought it back to Jerusalem. Imagine carrying a head on your journey. It was a reminder of what God can and will do when we put our faith and trust in Him.
There were no selfies back then so he just took the head to prove God gave them the victory. I bet the head stunk really bad! Maybe he wore it on his backpack like those lucky rabbit foot key chains. What David did affected all of Israel. Because of Davids triumph, all of Israel was victorious. The same is true with all those who follow Jesus. They will have victory because He won so we will win. It’s a beautiful picture of what Jesus came to do for us as He crushed the head of the serpent Satan at Golgotha just like David defeated Goliath.
I don’t know what you’re facing that seems too big for you to overcome, but I want to encourage you to factor God into the equation like David did. Bring the Lord into the situation. Remember who your God is. Nothing is too hard for Him and He wants to help you!
