Behave Wisely

Behave Wisely
by: Pastor Ryan Scheibel

2 Samuel 18:28, “Thus Saul saw and knew that the Lord was with David, and that Michal, Saul’s daughter loved him; 29 and Saul was still more afraid of David. So Saul became David’s enemy continually. 30 Then the princes of the Philistines went out to war. And so it was, whenever they went out, that David behaved more wisely than all the servants of Saul, so that his name became highly esteemed.”

David was unbeatable because God was with Him! Saul threw everything at him from a spear, to disappointment, to deception, and tried to get him killed in battle.

I love how even though David went through all these things, he still behaved wisely!

You can’t take a guy like this out. God’s hand is on him, protecting him, and raising him up.
He behaved wisely more than all others and his name became highly esteemed.
What kind of reputation do we have?

I want to be known like David and to always behave wisely. No wonder God called David, a man after his own heart, because he dealt wisely with things the way God instructed him to deal with things.

James 1:5, “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.”

Proverbs 2:6, “ For the Lord gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding.”
