Don’t Be Shaken

2 Samuel 18:27, “Therefore David arose and went, he and his men, and killed two hundred men of the Philistines. And David brought their foreskins, and they gave them in full count to the king that he might become the king’s son-in-law. Then Saul gave him Michal his daughter as a wife.”
Saul was trying to give David another impossible task, hoping that the philistines will kill David but David went above and beyond the call of duty and brought back 200 foreskins. Saul had ordered him to get 100 to have his daughter. Everything Saul did was a plot against David, but David was faithful and didn’t waver in his commitment to God or his commitment to serve Saul. He wasn’t moved.
I believe we are far too often moved and shaken by many tough situations when God wants us to just hold our ground, trust Him and keep plowing forward!
Paul said in Acts 20:23-24, “The Holy Spirit testifies in every city, saying that chains and tribulations await me. But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.”
Paul gave us an example to not be shaken by adversity.
If we truly believe that God is on the throne, we need to trust Him!
Ephesians 1:11 says, “God is working all things according to the counsel of his will.”
