Stay Focused

Stay Focused!

1 Samuel 17:24, “And all the men of Israel, when they saw the man, fled from him and were dreadfully afraid.”

I think a lot of us can understand what these guys are feeling dreadfully afraid because when we see the giants in our lives, it’s easy for us to become fearful. Peter had this same problem!

In Matthew 14, Jesus told the disciples to get into the boat, cross over to the other side and He would meet them there. They got in the boat and were about halfway across the Sea of Galilee and a giant storm arose. The wind was blowing, the waves were crashing over their little boat and it was filling with water. Jesus came walking to them on the water and it was Peter who said, Lord if you command me to come and Jesus said come. Peter stepped out of the boat and began to walk on water but when Peter saw the wind and the waves, he became afraid and started to sink. He got his eyes off of Jesus and onto his gigantic situation and he began to sink.

It’s so important that we stay focused on Jesus. That should be our motto and way of life because the truth of the matter is, we all go through giant storms in our lives and the encouragement is to stay focused on Jesus.

Hebrews 12:2 says, “We’re to look unto Jesus the author and perfector of our faith.”
