Give Glory to God

1 Samuel 17:46-47 This day the Lord will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you and take your head from you. And this day I will give the carcasses of the camp of the Philistines to the birds of the air and the wild beasts of the earth, that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel. Then all this assembly shall know that the Lord does not save with sword and spear; for the battle is the Lord’s, and He will give you into our hands.”
David continued to give glory to God. This is why God called David, a man after His own heart. It was because he wanted all the Earth to know about the God of Israel. He didn’t say he wanted everyone to know about me; he wanted everyone to know about his God. This is why the Bible says go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature so all the earth will know about the God we serve, about the One who saved our soul.
I love his heart knowing the battle belongs to the Lord. If we are getting beat up by giants, defeated again and again, it’s because we face our giants in our own strength. It’s so important to say to God, I need help!
Ephesians 6:10-11, “My brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.”
It’s important to recognize I’m weak but at the same time, acknowledge that God is great and powerful. I need to know I cannot win in the spiritual battle in my own strength. Jesus said apart from me, you can do nothing.
