All the Days of My Life

All the Days of My Life
by: Pastor Ryan Scheibel
1 Samuel 25:1, “Then Samuel died; and the Israelites gathered together and lamented for him, and buried him at his home in Ramah. And David arose and went down to the Wilderness of Paran.”
The death of Samuel was very significant as he was the 13th and final judge of Israel.
In 1 Samuel 7:15, we’re told that Samuel judged Israel all the days of his life.
It’s hard when these giants of the faith pass on. When Samuel passed, it was the removal of an incredible era kept by a man of God who was faithful to preach the word of God uncompromising. Davids spiritual mentor died. The guy that had poured into him. The guy that had anointed him to be the next king.
Samuel served the Lord all the days of his life and was a leader among the people and sets a great example for us. He was a follower of Jesus and put God first in everything. We need to be those who are stepping up and stepping out for Jesus Christ!
I want to hear Jesus say to me, “Well done good and faithful servant!”
Samuel was a powerful man of God who impacted the nation of Israel in a mighty way but it’s important for us to notice that God’s work did not end when Samuel’s days on this earth ended. God’s work is never dependent upon one man. In verse one, it’s written that Samuel died but it’s also written that David arose. God has one man and then he moved on to another. God’s work may begin with a man but it never ends with one man as God continues and sustains His work.
