Changes
by: Pastor David Wood

Colossians 3:12-14
Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.

These verses describe some changes that happen to us as we are sanctified by the Spirit of God. If you are feeling fruity, you can look up the fruits of the Spirit over at Galatians 5:22-23. But for now, we’ll just focus on this wardrobe of fine Spirit clothes.

There are lots of things we can choose to wear spiritually that represent the changes that are going on in our lives directed by the Spirit. Forgiving, loving each other and remembering that though we may be very different from each other, we are all a part of the Body of Christ, is key.

Just like our spleen and our ear are very different and have different functions, we are different in beautiful ways, have different functions and need each other to make up the whole Body of Christ.

This weekend, Water Brooks is having service at the park and baptizing people in the river. Baptism is an outward sign of an inward change. Born again and raised with Christ. That is what happens to us spiritually as well when we are born again in Christ. As you consider these verses today, think of them similarly. Changes happening to you as you grow are outward signs of the inward change. Beautiful!

Knowing God
by: Pastor David Wood

Romans 11:33-36
Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out! “For who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has become His counselor?” “Or who has first given to Him and it shall be repaid to him?” For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever. Amen

Isaiah 55:8-9
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts

1 Corinthians 13:12
For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.

1 Corinthians 2:9
But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”

Revelation 21:4
And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.
Some great verses today that tell us a little about our God. Lots of things happen in this thing we call, life, that we just don’t understand. Our God is so much bigger and beyond our current comprehension. But one day, on the other side of eternity, we will know and understand everything. For now, we put our hope, trust and faith in the One and Only. The great I AM.
