God Will Use Us

1 Samuel 17:49-51 Then David put his hand in his bag and took out a stone; and he slung it and struck the Philistine in his forehead, so that the stone sank into his forehead, and he fell on his face to the earth. So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone, and struck the Philistine and killed him. But there was no sword in the hand of David. Therefore David ran and stood over the Philistine, took his sword and drew it out of its sheath and killed him, and cut off his head with it. And when the Philistines saw that their champion was dead, they fled.

David used his sling and a stone to knock Goliath out! Goliath fell to the ground like a tree and he probably yelled, timber!

I love the fact that it was a rock that took Goliath out. It’s another picture of Jesus, our rock, defeating the enemy. Our great shepherd of the sheep, our King of kings, who came down to this world and defeated our enemy.

2 Samuel 22:2 says, “The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer.”

David used Goliath’s sword and cuts off his head! It must have been a bloody mess! He did this to ensure he wouldn’t get back up. There would be no comebacks for Goliath. David probably saw the movies of the bad guys coming back to life so he makes sure he finishes the job by burning the bridges.
 
God will use what little we have in our hands for His Glory! For Moses, God used a staff in his hand. For David, it was a sling and stone. For Paul, it was a writing pen. What is in your hand that you are using for Gods Glory?
